The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent warning about fake Labubu dolls , known as "Lafufus," which pose a serious choking hazard to young children. These counterfeit toys, sold as plush figures and keychains, are small enough for children to put in their mouths. Reports indicate that these fake Labubus can easily break apart, releasing small pieces that could become choking hazards.

Peter Feldman , acting commissioner of the CPSC, emphasized the danger, stating, "These fake Labubu dolls are dangerous, illegal, and have no place in American homes. No parent should have to wonder if a toy will stop their child from breathing."

The CPSC urges consumers not to buy these knockoff products and to dispose of them if they have already been purchased.
