One Cornwall councillor spoke about her desire to see equal gender representation when people are nominated to council’s committees.
Coun. Sarah Good’s comments during the Aug. 11 council meeting stemmed from a mid-term governance review that proposed changes to a committee procedure’s policy .

“We don’t have gender parity around this council table,” said Good. “We all have unconscious bias. I appreciate that we try to chose the best qualified person. Sometimes just having that extra check and balance makes sure that we are doing our best that we don’t end up with a committee that really only represents one demographic.”
