A 39-year-old man is being treated for injuries he suffered after being assaulted and stabbed over the weekend. He is in stable condition.

At about 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, police initially were responding to a robbery in progress in the area of 22nd St. W. and 1st Ave. When police arrived, a witness said they saw three or four males in ski masks assaulting another male. The suspects and the victim left the scene before police arrived.

Later that night, at about 3 a.m., police found the stabbing victim lying in the street at 1st Ave. And 21st St. E. The man was transported to hospital.
