JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The man charged with shooting two motorcycle riders Sunday is no longer in jail.
Malcolm Lyles, 36, of Laurel, made his first appearance Monday morning before Ellisville Municipal Court Judge Travis Haynes.
Lyles was charged with two counts of aggravated assault for wounding a man and woman late Sunday afternoon in what was characterized as a “road rage” incident.
Both victims, who were riding the same motorcycle, were reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital.
Bond totaled $150,000 after Haynes set the figure at $75,000 on each of the aggravated assault charges.
By late Monday afternoon, Lyles had bonded out.
Lyles turned himself in early Sunday night. He also surrendered the weapon that was used in the shooting.
