SCHENECTADY — A Schenectady man faces up to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to an arson charge recently.

Namere Thompson, 33, pleaded guilty on Aug. 12 to the second-degree violent felony charge stemming from a Jan. 23 incident, where he was accused of setting numerous fires inside his apartment at University Place in downtown Schenectady while nearly 20 other residents were inside the building in the early morning hours.
