Major Hurricane Erin went through rapid intensification over the weekend and reached category 5 strength with winds over 160 mph. The storm has since weakened but remains a major hurricane near the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Bahamas. As of 11 p.m. Monday, the storm was located 690 miles southwest of Bermuda.
