TAMPA — Giancarlo Stanton does not deal in the world of emotions.

So any frustration with his body not allowing him to play the field over the weekend against the Cardinals was superseded by the acknowledgement that this is his reality.

He still was feeling lower-body soreness from playing right field three straight days last week (for the first time in three years), and combined with the fact that Busch Stadium has a spacious outfield, it meant he was on the bench for all three games.

“I think he’s very in tune and very aware of his body and very mentally disciplined,” manager Aaron Boon
