LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man accused of homicide and nine other felonies is headed to trial.

Timothy Washington, 41, is charged in the deadly shooting of 34-year-old Philmoon Kuku — and numerous other crimes — back in February.

His charges include first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and possession of a stolen firearm.

Washington appeared in court for his preliminary hearing Monday, and Judge Thomas Zimmerman found there was enough evidence to take Washington’s case to trial.

Police said after shooting Kuku near 13th and E streets on Feb. 16, Washington fled from a traffic stop and crashed into a vehicle at 27th and Y streets.

Then he went into a nearby apartment and stabbed a man in the neck and chest, according to court documents.
