JAMESTOWN — The groundbreaking ceremony for the new North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown represents the state’s promise to deliver high-quality, compassionate behavioral health care to its residents, according to Gov. Kelly Armstrong.

“We're investing not only in the physical infrastructure but in people — those receiving care and those providing it,” Armstrong said.

Officials broke ground for the new State Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The new $300 million State Hospital will be located west of 12th Avenue Southeast and across the street from the current facility.

Construction on the facility is expected to be complete by the end of 2027.
