ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - During the Roanoke City Council meeting on Monday afternoon, the Roanoke Police Department provided a briefing on its new crime data center.

RPD’s new Operations and Crime Control Center, known as The Roc3, will serve as a real-time crime data center. RPD said it will be the central hub for intelligence and will help coordinate public safety responses and real-time decision-making.

“We want something that works with Chief Booth’s stratified policing model with new technologies. We want our officers to be patrolling with more focus, more strategic, and we want them to be able to focus on the criminal offenses that are really occurring out there.
