More than four years after the deadly 2021 winter storm hit Texas and left millions without power and water, the City of Fort Worth is now offering federal disaster relief grants to help residents still recovering from the damage.
Starting Monday, eligible residents can apply for assistance through a program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which awarded the city more than $27 million in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds.

“With this program, we can go up to $150,000 in repair improvements,” said Fort Worth city officials. “I know the storm was four years ago, and so it’s hard to imagine that there are people who still have damage to their home, but there are.”
