New court documents are revealing details about a Burnet County crash that killed five Dallas women who were on their way to a birthday celebration at the lake.

According to a newly obtained arrest affidavit, on July 25, Kody Talley was driving a truck towing horses along U.S. 281 when he “crossed over the center divider” and “began driving northbound in the inside southbound lane.”

He hit one car and then a second.

The document says “the impact… forced the SUV into the air where it overturned… and caught fire.”

The crash killed all five women inside: Thalia Salinas, Ruby Cruz, Jaqueline Velasco, Alysea Valadez and Desire Cervantes.
