The NASCAR Cup Series competed at Richmond Raceway, and it was an exciting event. Tyler Reddick won Stage 1, while Bubba Wallace won Stage 2; however, both 23XI Racing drivers faced issues that took them out of contention. At the end of the day, it was a redemption story for a Richard Childress Racing driver.
Austin Dillon and the No. 3 team for Richard Childress Racing won the Cook Out 400 at Richmond, earning their first victory of the 2025 Cup Series season. Dillon passed Ryan Blaney in the Final Stage, pitted four laps earlier during green-flag pit stops, and maintained a healthy gap over the rest of the field.
The Richard Childress Racing driver's victory was redemption after wrecking his way to victory lane at Richmond in 2024. Now, Dillon and the No. 3 team are locked into the 2025 NASCAR playoffs after one of the best performances of his career. Richmond was a statement, and Dillon's performance should concern the field moving forward.
