BOX ELDER COUNTY — The Box Elder County Sheriff's Office deputy and K9 who were hospitalized following the shooting in Tremonton have been identified by officials.
Deputy Mike Allred was one of three officers who immediately responded to reports of a domestic disturbance at a home near 700 North and 200 East. He and his service dog, Azula, were both injured and hospitalized in the shooting.
Deputy Mike Allred, a five-year veteran of the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office, was described by the Department of Public Safety as a "natural leader who prioritizes the welfare of others over his own."
