OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After numerous warnings to clean up an eyesore, Sarpy County officials are taking a property owner to court.

A First Alert 6 investigation in June exposed the problem that’s led to a search warrant and civil action.

Near 148th and Josephine Streets, a backyard full of appliances is not in compliance with zoning and nuisance regulations.

A few weeks ago, Sarpy County inspectors, backed by a sheriff’s office deputy, served a search warrant to document violations.

“Now that we’ve filed the civil complaint with the district court here in Sarpy County, we will be asking for a complete cleanup of his yard. And if it were to return in the future, we may consider bringing criminal charges,” said Assistant Sarpy County Attorney Kayla Starbuck.
