MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - University of Wisconsin-Madison students are heading back to campus and getting ready for the upcoming fall semester. Meanwhile, the campus food pantry, Open Seat, is preparing for an increased demand this school year.
Chloe Shomo is a UW student and the distribution director for Open Seat. She says the pantry has grown exponentially in the past 10 years and offers a variety of products from fresh produce to hygiene products.
The pantry is fully run by students, for students. Organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank and businesses like the Target on State Street help provide food and products.
Over the summer, the pantry has moved into a new location in the Student Activity Center. They are located on the 3rd Floor, Room 3136.
