MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A popular race known for its challenging course and spectator-friendly atmosphere is returning to Madison.

Ironman weekend is almost here! Rob Gard with Destination Madison visited WMTV on Monday and shared how kids can become involved.

IRONKIDS Fun Run will kick off at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Capitol Square.

Organizers said they will receive a t-shirt and a medal for their hard work.

“It’s kind of a taste of what the experience is like for adults,” said Gard.

The next day, on Sunday, September 7, adults will hit the ground running for the IRONMAN.

If you are not interested in competing, organizers encourage you to volunteer.
