1. Tetracycline antibiotics
Milk can lower the absorption of these antibiotics because calcium binds to the medicine in the stomach. With older tetracyclines, absorption can drop by 50% to 90%, which can also make the medicine not work.
Doxycycline is less affected , but absorption can still drop by 30% to 40%, which can matter for certain infections.
To avoid this, don’t take tetracyclines with dairy . Wait one hour before or two hours after consuming dairy or calcium-fortified drinks and foods to ensure proper absorption.
