Several rounds of heavy rain over the last four days has left many across the region filling sandbags and waiting for overflowing rivers to crest.

The National Weather Service has issued multiple River Flood Warnings across our area. The Winnebago River at Mason City, Cedar River at Austin and Charles City, Turtle Creek near Austin, Dobbins Creek at Austin and the Turkey River at Spillville remain under these warnings as of 10 p.m. Monday evening.

In Spillville, minor flooding is already happening with major flooding expected as the Turkey River is forecast to crest at 14 feet Tuesday morning. Moderate flooding is forecast for the Cedar River in Charles City with a crest of 15.4 feet early Wednesday morning.
