SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane is making a significant investment in affordable housing by allocating $7.5 million to support nine local projects.
The funding will facilitate four new construction projects, resulting in 95 new units.
Of these, 63 units will be available to households earning 60% or less of the area’s median income.
Additionally, two projects will rehabilitate 50 existing units and add 49 more for those earning 80% or less.
A homeownership project is set to create 12 townhomes, with half designated for households earning 80% or less.
Spokane City Councilmember Jonathon Bingle expressed optimism about the initiative.
