'Neighbour won't stop annoying habit when it rains – it's impacting my property'

A local resident was fuming to learn their neighbour was putting sandbags outside their home every time it rains. While this is a good way to prevent your property from flooding, the placement of the water defences is key.

It can be incredibly selfish – and dangerous – to place sandbags so they divert the rainwater into other people's properties. It can cause damage to homes – such as weakening foundations, causing flooding and reaching electrical outlets.
