CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -- Historian Scott Hageman will share the history of the Chagrin Falls Schools at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chagrin History Center, 87 E. Washington St.

Following a PowerPoint presentation, Hageman will field questions from guests concerning the 176-year history of the village’s school system.

May 25, 1849, was the date of the village’s first school board meeting. The first public school board meeting was held the following month, on June 12, at the North School House.

At that June 12 meeting, residents approved plans to build two or more schoolhouses and to raise $1,000 for the land and building construction.

There are still open seats for the presentation. Attendees are required to RSVP to Maggie at admin@chagrinhistory.org .
