LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - We’ll switch gears a little as we head into our Tuesday with heat and humidity being the big focus over rain chances.

High pressure is building in a little close for us today and that looks to keep things just a touch drier through the second half of the day.

Temperatures will quicky warm through the morning and into the afternoon as we look to return to the middle and upper 90s.

Heat index values will be the big concern as well with feels like temperatures between 105-108° for much of the afternoon.

A few spotty showers and storms remain possible, but the widespread cooling relief we saw on our Monday looks less likely today.

Moving through the middle half of the work week, we look to introduce some better rain chances as isolated to scattered storms return
