The evaporating reservoir waters at Silver Lake Park have revealed a stunning, crime-movie find: what appears to be a pistol and a pair of brass knuckles.
The weapons were found by a Staten Island native who recently visited the reservoir basin after the Advance/SILive.com highlighted how the reservoir waters had evaporated to shocking levels.
The former Islander, who gave his name as Chris, said he found the items wrapped along with a rock with what appeared to be black electrical tape on a rocky spit of land that is usually submerged.
“I wasn’t entirely surprised to find something like that,” Chris told the Advance/SILive.com in an email. “While I did go out there looking for bottles or any bits of old treasure, I was kind of on the lookout for guns, weapons and things of that nature
