CORDOVA, Tenn. - A shootout in Cordova led Memphis Police (MPD) and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) to work together early Monday morning. A deputy answered the call to help an apparent gunshot victim, but MPD was already investigating the case of the shooting that appears to be where that victim was hurt.

A bullet-riddled black Dodge, police believe is connected to the shootout, was towed from a home several miles away. Witnesses told police they’re the result of a gunfight between people in two vehicles who were shooting at each other before sunrise.
