LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On August 19, 1995, car enthusiasts gathered for the very first Woodward Dream Cruise.

What began as a small fundraiser in Ferndale drew an unexpected crowd of 250,000 in its first year, with classic cars cruising along historic Woodward Avenue.

Today, the Dream Cruise has evolved into the world’s largest one-day automotive event, attracting over a million people each August.
