LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan Municipal League, joined by legislators, local leaders, developers, and home builders from across the state, will announce a comprehensive strategy to expand and rehabilitate attainable housing in Michigan.
The MI Home Program is a detailed plan that prioritizes partnership over preemption to increase housing construction and rehabilitation.
It aims to modernize local zoning regulations and accelerate housing development statewide.
The strategy proposes a $160 million annual investment over five years, resulting in the development of more than 10,000 attainable housing units across Michigan.
