BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. —
All Bullitt County Public Schools are closed on Tuesday due to a major water main break.
The school district's Facebook page posted that the break left school buildings without running water, functioning toilets or operational HVAC systems.
With outside temperatures nearing 90 degrees, district leaders said they determined it was unsafe to keep school buildings open for students and staff.
“This is not an NTI (non-traditional instruction) day,” the district said in a statement. “We do not currently have a timetable for when service will be restored, but we are monitoring the situation and will share updates as quickly as possible.”
High school students who were already in transit were returned home by bus.
District officials acknowledged the inconvenience caus
