August 19 will not only have people marching for the Whoop-Up Days parade, but also in solidarity with collective bargaining.
Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) who are employed by the Alberta Government are set to rally at the Lethbridge Provincial Building.
The march will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with speeches starting at 12:15.
AUPE Vice President Curtis Jackson says, “As our Government Services Bargaining Committee enters into enhanced mediation with the Government of Alberta, and a deadline for negotiations is on the horizon, our members are showing their strength.”
