GORDON COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Two jailers saved an inmate who was choking in his cell in Gordon County over the weekend.
The incident happened on Sunday evening at the Gordon County Jail. According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy O.L. Towe and jailer A.R. Kinsey were working in the jail booking office when they saw the inmate choking on a piece of food and unable to breathe in his cell.
Towe and Kinsey quickly rushed to the inmate’s aid and started the “Heimlich Maneuver,” successfully removing the food particle and restoring the inmate’s ability to breathe.
“I am extremely proud of these two employees for their calmness in an emergency situation, their attention to their duties and their swift action which saved a man from serious bodily harm or death,” said Gordon County S
