LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University, in partnership with Apple, is opening a manufacturing academy in Detroit’s First National Building on Tuesday.

The project was announced earlier this year and aims to support small and medium-sized businesses.

The academy will offer free in-person classes focused on improving operations through smart manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

Apple engineers and MSU experts will work directly with participants, guiding them on implementing AI and modern manufacturing techniques.

Online courses are also expected to launch later this year.

The academy is open to companies nationwide.
