GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Crews in Scott County are set to begin removing a 200-foot dam at Great Crossing Park in Georgetown starting Tuesday.
Officials say the dam, located on the North Fork of Elkhorn Creek, has been the site of multiple drownings in recent years, including incidents in 2021 and 2022. The project aims to improve safety for the community while restoring natural water flow.
Work at the site is expected to continue through the end of the month.
