The Phillies and Mariners meet again tonight (Tuesday, Aug 19) at Citizens Bank Park for Game 2 of their three-game series. Philadelphia took the opener on Monday, beating Seattle 12-7 behind a huge night from Bryce Harper and Trea Turner.

Harper crushed two home runs while Turner drove in five runs on four hits. The Phillies’ offense collected 21 hits, punishing Seattle starter Logan Gilbert, who gave up six runs in just two innings.

For the Mariners, Cole Young and Mitch Garver homered, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Phillies’ bats.

The win pushed Philadelphia to 72-53, keeping them in first place in the NL East. Seattle dropped to 68-58 and continues to chase ground in the AL West.
