Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden , who has bravely battled her own health challenges including Crohn's disease and breast cancer, received an MBE from the King at Buckingham Palace earlier this year.

The Welsh dancer was recognised for her outstanding charitable work and for raising awareness about inflammatory bowel disease, a condition she has lived with since childhood. Amy first disclosed her Crohn's diagnosis in 2019 and chronicled her journey in the BBC documentary 'Strictly Amy: Crohn's And Me'.

Despite experiencing symptoms including diarrhoea, stomach pain, fatigue, and weight loss, Amy refused to let the illness compromise her dancing career.
