At a press conference on Aug. 15, Hank Winchester’s attorney Neil Rockind said the veteran broadcast journalist was “the victim of baseless and unfounded allegations.”

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office stated that same day that the findings of the investigation had been presented and "it was concluded there was no cause to file any charges.

Days after his attorneys announced he had been cleared in a criminal investigation , WDIV-TV reporter Hank Winchester returned to “The Morning After with Kelly Stafford & Hank" podcast to talk about “the worst nine weeks of my life.”

The veteran Detroit broadcast journalist said, “I’ve lost both my parents. I’ve had testicular cancer, I’ve gone through a divorce…Nothing compares to this.”
