Police say one person was injured following an industrial incident

A construction site incident in Ottawa’s west end prompted road closures Saturday morning after a piece of equipment fell onto a Carling Avenue worksite.

The Ottawa Police Service said emergency crews were called at 8:22 a.m. to an “industrial incident” near Churchill Avenue.

CTV News Ottawa cameras captured a crane holding a large piece of metal construction equipment that appeared to have fallen onto the site.

Police reported one minor injury. Ottawa paramedics said they were not dispatched to the scene. No serious damage was reported.

The Ministry of Labour said it will investigate.

Westbound Carling Avenue between Clyde and Churchill avenues was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
