GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - At Tuesday night’s Grand Island City Council meeting, the Central Nebraska Humane Society and the City of Grand Island will discuss a new contract.
The Humane Society currently shelters animals that are taken by the Grand Island Police Department and animal control officers. The new contract would ensure that they get the funding necessary for providing that shelter care. The proposed contract would run for three years.
Grand Island Police Chief Kevin Denney said the new contract would make the animal control process more efficient if approved.
