DES MOINES, Iowa- Iowa soldiers received an emotional farewell this weekend as they prepared for a year-long mission to the Middle East. Friends and family of the 103rd Sustainment Command gathered to honor the soldiers with a heartfelt ceremony.

Emotions were high, but the large outpouring of love and support uplifted many spirits.

"You know, we have support from the families and from some representatives from the state," Lindsey Wagner, a soldier from the 103rd Sustainment Command, said. "And it's not a goodbye. It's a see you later. And we're really excited."

Wagner noted the significance of the support, saying, "It's really meaningful. It really shows how much support we're getting from just everybody around. And I think it's a huge boost, a morale for the troops."
