A 26-year-old man has been charged after an assault with a knife on an ION train in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police said the incident occurred Monday at around 3:30 p.m. near Courtland Avenue East and Block Line Road , when a person was threatened and assaulted with a knife.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, police said.

The man was charged with uttering threats to cause death, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He will appear in court at a later date.
