Justin Trudeau’s time as a KatyCat might be coming to an end. Last month, the former prime minister of Canada was spotted on an intimate dinner date with the newly single Katy Perry , setting off rumors that the two were an item. Those rumors intensified after Trudeau attended the Montreal stop of Perry’s Lifetimes tour, where he sang along to “Firework” and looked besotted with the singer.

According to sources who spoke with the Daily Mail on Monday, whatever fireworks show was happening between the two has already fizzled out.

“She’s busy, he’s busy … They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off,” one person told the outlet. “But there’s nothing negative about it. They just aren’t in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is.
