CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - After nearly 40 years of guiding the Heartland through storms, sunshine, and everything in between, Brian Alworth — KFVS12’s trusted and beloved meteorologist — will retire next month.

His final broadcast on September 19 will mark the end of an era for viewers who have relied on his steady voice, precise forecasts, and deep connection to the community since the late 1980s.

“It’s been a pleasure and an honor to be part of the KFVS12 weather team and to serve the Heartland for almost four decades,” Alworth said. “This community welcomed me when I arrived as a young forecaster, and it’s been my privilege to help keep them informed and safe through the years.”
