NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) - A City Councilor in North Adams is traveling across the state to visit the potential future train stops and advocate for the Northern Tier Rail Restoration Project.
The journey for North Adams City Councilor Andrew Fitch began on Monday at the Boston State House to deliver pins and stickers to the Governor's office. Fitch then boarded the commuter rail to the Wachusett Station in Fitchburg. Since the Northern Tier Rail does not extend further west, he will then travel by bicycle and foot for the next three days to North Adams.
