MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A shootout early Tuesday morning at a Parkway Village apartment complex left two people — including a security guard — injured, police said.
Memphis Police (MPD) said officers were called just before 3:30 a.m. to the Twin Oaks Apartments on Outland Road for a shooting. FOX13 arrived to see a few flashing blue lights from squad cars inside the complex.
MPD Col. Carlos Davis told FOX13 that two people were shot when gunfire was exchanged.
A suspect was shot after security guards returned fire, police said.
FOX13 learned that the security guard who was shot had a vest on at the time of the shooting, and it likely saved his life. The suspect suffered critical injuries and was taken to Regional One Health, police said.
