Beaches around South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Oregon and Alabama are among the most popular out-of-state seaside spots in the country, a new study has shown.
An investigation conducted by PrivacyJournal looked at beach-related searches online this year across all 50 states, focusing over 100 popular U.S. beaches as well as keywords related to them—such as "hotels" and "activities".
The data was then analyzed to determine which out-of-state beach destination had the highest number of searches in each state.
Myrtle Beach, a 60-mile stretch along South Carolina's Atlantic coast, was found to be the country's most searched for out-of-state beach, topping the search lists in 18 states, especially in the northeast region including Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.
