As Hurricane Erin passes far off the coast this week, Jersey Shore beaches face multiple hazards with high surf, dangerous rip currents, beach erosion and potential coastal flooding expected through Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory and is warning beach-goers that there’s a high risk of dangerous rip currents at New Jersey beaches.
