When they arrived, they found the body of 29-year-old Brandon Lee Campiou . Article content

An autopsy was scheduled for Aug. 18. It confirmed that Campiou’s death was a result of homicide and RCMP then released the names of both the victim and the accused.

As a result of the investigation, Blake Francis Giroux, 32, of Edmonton, was charged with manslaughter. A justice of the peace remanded him into custody, and he’s scheduled to appear in High Prairie’s Alberta Court of Justice on Aug. 25.

Even before the autopsy was conducted, Alberta RCMP’s major crimes unit took over the investigation.
