YOUNGSTOWN Squatters were found living in a garage on the property of a now-closed Catholic church in Youngstown’s historic Brier Hill neighborhood, and one was arrested.

Youngstown Police Department officers were called on Monday to the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church on Jefferson Street. The church was closed in 2012 and has since been privately owned. The owner told police they had trouble with people breaking into the property.

According to a police report, a police officer had previously warned four people camping on the property to leave several weeks ago. On Monday, he returned to the location and found two of the individuals inside a garage.
