YOUNGSTOWN A 14-year-old charged in a Youngstown homicide case pled guilty just as his trial was set to begin.

A representative for the Mahoning County Juvenile Court tells 21 News 14-year-old Willie Wilks pled guilty to one felony count of Involuntary Manslaughter.

Wilks was charged in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Keondre Lewis in March of 2025. Police said Lewis was found lying in the dining room of a Rhoda Avenue home with a gunshot wound to the head.

During a June hearing, witnesses in the home testified that they heard a loud bang and saw Wilks running out of the home. The witness said they did not see Wilks with a gun, but knew he had one.

A police officer testified that Wilks repeatedly said "my brother, my brother" during an interview, noting that Wilk
