ST. PAUL (WKBT) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison filed a lawsuit against TikTok Inc. Tuesday, accusing the social media giant of designing an intentionally addictive app that harms children's mental health and exploits them financially.

The complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court alleges TikTok deliberately targets young users with manipulative features that keep them scrolling for hours, contributing to rising rates of depression, anxiety and sleep deprivation among Minnesota teens. Ellison claims TikTok is violating Minnesota consumer protection laws.
