University of Minnesota research teams are known for studying everything “from space robots to malaria vaccines.” But federal funding cuts are impacting academic work. Sahan Journal reports that “as of July 17, nearly 100 federal grants totaling more than $20 million in outstanding funds have been terminated or suspended at the University of Minnesota. … Research grants make up a substantial part of the University of Minnesota’s budget — and the majority of those research funds come from the federal government.”
